I don’t really go into Crywolf tracks looking for a hot groove to get down to. The now LA based producer can certainly build a hot beat to get down to, but there’s always a whole lot more going on his tracks. The Angels EP is a perfect example, as it was compiled as a conceptual album, meant to be listened to in its entirety, rather than individual tracks. While the tracks are still great on their own, the album as a whole is more than likely to completely take your breath away.
After the atmospheric intro draws you in, the album quickly pushes forward into “Eyes Half Closed”, bringing on an assortment of instrumental samples and beautiful electronic production before knocking us back with a whirlwind of bass. The EP serves its function perfectly, making it nearly impossible to stop anywhere in the middle. Once you start this album, you’re going to want to have the next 25 minutes free, because you’ll be glued to your seat. Crywolf manages to entangle us with gorgeous melodies, passionate vocals, and precision production.
